We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful as found single bank or ladies style Victorian carved pull Civil War Era roll top desk that dates from the 1850s to 1860s, It is in original old finish. It only has a couple of things wrong with it. There are some marks inside from use and the top drawer has a small side molding missing on the drawers. The corner board on the base of the desk needs to be completely glued up and redone as it has been cracked. The desk has great hand carved pulls on all the drawers and molded panels inside out. The original lock is intact but we have no key. The desk will need a cleaning, but is a nice original desk dating from the 1860s,. It has a green felt on the writing that has been replaced at one time. There are some rub marks on the inside, lots of rub marks on the outside which a polish would help a lot and it has the two or three little cabinet problems that aren't a big deal. The desk itself is 42 inches wide, 32 inches deep and 50.5 inches high to the top of the roll. From the top of the roll to the top of the desk is 20 inches high. It is a good Civil War Era age desk. It is a great project if someone would like it professionally restored, which we can do for you for an additional charge. However, some oil, glue and clamps would do wonders if you would like to keep it in the original finish. The desk is in the medium amber color. It would polish up nicely.
