SOLD Antique Seven Piece Victorian Burl Walnut Parlor Set

We are pleased to be offering today this seven-piece Victorian renaissance burl walnut incise carved parlor set that consists of a two-seat loveseat, gentleman’s arm chair, ladies chair and four parlor chairs. The set is all matching. It was reupholstered quite a while ago and comes with extra fabric. The fabric is interesting as it appears threads are showing even though there are no rips or tears. It appears there are loose threads on the top layer of the fabric, which I would probably cut for aesthetics, but there is additional fabric for repair, or it is usable as it is. It is a clean set with tight frames that are in the original finish. I would guess the fabric was replaced in the last 20 years. The dust cover that goes under the seats has disintegrated over the years and could be replaced if so desired. The set dates from the 1880s in solid black walnut with tons of burl walnut panels, accent trim and burl walnut accent buttons. The set is quite pleasing and would have demanding over twice as much 25 years ago. The size of the loveseat is 56 inches wide across the arms, 42 inches wide between the arms, 46 inches high to the top of the carved crest, 26 inches high to the arms and 18 inches high to the seat. The gentleman’s chair is 23 inches wide across the arms, 19 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 44 inches high to the top of the crest, 25 inches high to the arms and 18 inches high to the seat. The lady’s chair is 22 inches wide across the front of the seat, 19 inches deep, 40 inches high to the top of the crest and 17 inches high to the seat. The four side chairs are 19 inches across the front of the seat, 17 inches deep, 37 inches high to the top of the crest and 19 inches high to the seat. It is a beautiful set. The front legs are multi-turn tapered and retain the brass/metal wheels. They all have hip huggers and fancy burl around the perimeter of the backs. The upholstery is done on the back so that it can be left out in the center of a room. You are getting the seven-piece set for one money.
