SOLD Antique Nightstand, Victorian Walnut Half Commode
This antique nightstand is one of the nicest examples of a solid black walnut with burl walnut trim half commodes that I’ve ever seen condition wise dating from the 1880's. Lots of times these have marble, but this one is solid wood, which is unique. We buy a lot of half commodes and we don’t ever get them in this kind of nice condition.
This antique nightstand features an ogee bevel edge, round corners, burl walnut on the hand-cut dovetail drawer, and a hand-carved handle that is in unbelievable condition. Open the picture frame door with burl walnut accent panel to expose the super nice interior shelf that is also immaculate. I’m sure there are little minor nicks and dings seeing that it’s approximately 150 years old, and there is a little fading on the top, but overall it’s in excellent condition, even though it dates from the 1880s.
Measures 17.5 inches wide, 16 inches deep and 28.25 inches tall.
