SOLD Antique French Victorian Heavily Carved Walnut Parlor Set

We are pleased to be offering today this gorgeous two-piece French Victorian heavily carved parlor set dating from the 1940-1950's that consist of an extra-large triple seat sofa and an oversize armchair. The fabric is an antique beige with a floral design. It seems to be in real nice condition. The seat cushions appear to be the same fabric, but they must have had a covering over it at one point. The cushions are down filled. The sofa is large enough between the arms, measuring 76 inches long. The sofa would be great to lay down after a large Sunday or holiday meal. The sofa has a triple back with dainty carving as shown in the photos between the upholstered circles. The front has fruit and flowers carved throughout the front. The sofa is a four-legged front and has carved arms. The overall size of the sofa is 84 inches long, 32 inches deep and 38 inches high to the chair back, 24 inches high to the arms and 22 inches high to the seat. The armchair is 32 inches wide, 30 inches deep, 36 inches high to the back, 24 inches high to the arm and 20 inches high to the seat. I don’t see any damage to them, which is common as they were usually in the formal sitting room only used for special occasions. It is a fantastic set that would have brought $2800-$3200 in the old days, but this is priced for modern times.
