SOLD Antique Desk, Victorian Slant Top Secretary Desk
This antique secretary desk is in wonderful original condition, with tiger sawn oak, a heavily carved slant top lid, and four drawer front. Dating from the 1890s, this antique desk has an ogee ribbed molded crest gallery on top, which sets off a nice look with the wonderful carved slant top lid and the serpentine block front type drawers. It has plank sides and claw feet. The lid is supported with two hinge brackets, and when opened and reveals a multi-cubby hole drawer interior that is in really nice condition. The insides are usually rough on these, but this one is not; the inside is in great condition. It is a great little desk that is heavy. The overall size is 29 inches wide, 17 inches deep, 41 inches high to the top and 30 inches high to the writing lid. What a great investment minded antique!
