This wonderful Antique Desk maintains its original finish, and is resplendent in tiger sawn oak. Featuring a slant top, carved lid, and bevel glass mirror with china closet and bookcase side, this antique secretary desk dates from the early 1900s and retains its original dark oak finish. These are commonly known in the antique world as a side-by-side desk. This particular item has a spindle gallery shelf below the bevel glass mirror, double lion heads that join together in the center turn finial with a pierce carved crest, a four adjustable height bookcase shelf area or china closet area and a drop down lid on the right hand side with a cubby hole interior, below that is a rolled front tiger sawn drawer and below that is a tiger sawn door. There is carving along with base with castors. The overall size is 38 inches wide, 13 inches deep and 72 inches high overall. The height of the writing lid is 30.5 inches from the floor. The inside dimensions of the china closet/bookcase section are 11 inches deep. The 17 inch wide shelves are adjustable. There is no key, but we will look to see if we can find one prior to shipping.
