We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful original finish straight out a home on the coast of Massachusetts this beautiful black and burl walnut Victorian white and gray grained marble top bedroom set that dates from the 1860s to 1870s (Civil War Era).  It is a great set that hasn’t been altered or refinished.  The molding appears to be all intact.  The hand carved crests are there.  The marble seems to be all good.  All the burl panels are intact and in nice shape.  The set consists of an almost full size bed, Victorian marble top drop center dresser and a high back backsplash marble top commode.  It is a stunning set.  It is real nice and needs nothing other than a good cleaning.  It comes with the original tear drop pulls, hand cut dove tail drawers and even has the  hidden drawer in the drop center base.  The size of the mattress needed is 54 inches wide by 74 inches long.   We can quote you on extending the rail if you desire.  Please take time to look at all the photos as it is a extraordinary set.  The outside dimensions of the bed are 62 inches wide, 36 inches high on the footboard and 92 inches high on the headboard.  The drop center dresser is 45 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 92 inches high overall.  The marble top wash stand is 30 inches wide, 16 inches deep, 11 inches high on the backsplash itself and 40 inches high overall. The commode has burl panels on the hand cut dove tail drawers with original tear drop ebonized handles.  The commode has double door with raised burl panels.  The backsplash is wonderful with 45 degree angles on the candle shelves.  The marble is white and gray grained with an ogee bevel edge.  The drop center dresser is in real nice condition with the same 45 degree angle ogee bevel edge marble.  One of the knobs have come off, but we should be able to attach it.  It has all the keyhole escutcheons.  The dresser has two small drawers, 2 large drawers and the secret drawer on the base.  The dove tail is the circular dove tail which really dates this set.  The mirror and the bed are almost mirror images with crests.  The headboard on the bed has burl panel, carved burl trims, carved flowers and wonderful removable urn finials on the end.  The side rails are all original.  This is a great clean original finish marble top best set that needs nothing.  You are getting all three pieces for one money.  Shipping starts at $525 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.  Outside New England it will change, so please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to obtain a quote for outside of New England for shipping.
