Take a look at this gorgeous oak triple beveled glass sideboard with multi raised panels, a bulbous design front, paneled sides, multi tapered turned spindles, and is heavily carved, that dates from the 1890s. This came off a container from Europe, and although it looks American, it is most likely English. It would make a fantastic bathroom sink cabinet, if you could deal with the height of the base, because of the way the base has a carved middle drawer that bows out with ridges and the bulbous carved front. Just across the front of the base it has more than 20 deeply carved raised panels! If you took off the doors and drawer fronts, you could hang them on the wall as works of art. The top of the base doesn’t just have an ogee beveled edge, it has an amazing beveled edge that is twice as wide as normal. It has its original hardware, an applied bracket foot base, and then you look at the top. It has triple mirrors, the two outside large, oval and of beveled glass, and the center mirror of beveled glass with 45-degree corners. There are all kinds of raised panels, and there are candle shelves for lamps, and incredible acanthus carved pillars with cornices on top. The color is also beautiful, and is a dark to medium oak stain, that brings out the grains of the tiger sawn wood. It has a multi-molded crown top, carved front, triple mirror back, and is simply wonderful. You can see where people have stood at this sideboard over the years, where there is a bit of finish loss, but it can easily be colored in if you wanted it done, but it looks so charming the way it is. The carving is really nice, and the bowed drawer in the middle is 3 inches thick, in order to make the notch molding that they did. The overall size of the sideboard is 61 inches wide, 22.5 inches from front to back on the outside edges and 25 inches deep in the middle because of the drawer, 39 inches high to the base, and if you removed the baseboard to make it a bathroom vanity, it could be as low as 35 inches high. The top is 47 inches high, so the overall height of the base and top together is 86 inches tall. The mirrors measure, in the center, 25 inches wide, and 30 inches high, and the oval ones are 11 inches across. On the top of the molding, right in the center, there must have been a light or something, because there is a little notch. We will fix this if you request it at the time of purchase, at no extra charge. On one of the wooden panels around a mirror there are a few cracks that you can probably see in the pictures. This doesn’t affect the mirror and nothing’s really broken. On the top of the sideboard base are a couple nicks and dings on the sides, and other than that and the discoloration of the base, it’s in good condition. The looking glasses (mirrors) are all in pretty good aged condition, with a bit of streakiness and silver wear showing, which adds charm and character. There are no keys that I know of, but all three doors have spring latches on them, so you turn the handle to unlock the doors. All other hardware is intact. This piece would work in any room, because it’s just really a nice, versatile sideboard.
