Marble: 27½” W

A beautiful circa 1880 Victorian walnut hall tree with striking burl walnut panels, a white marble shelf, tall center mirror, numerous hat and coat pegs, and its original-style umbrella stand configuration with cast-iron drip pans.

This is an especially handsome hall tree. The large center mirror is framed by a wonderfully shaped architectural surround accented with contrasting burl walnut panels. The burl is used throughout the upper section and below the mirror, giving the piece considerably more visual interest than a typical solid-walnut hall tree.

The elaborate upper crest has a tall turned center finial, curved molding, carved scroll details, and a dramatic symmetrical silhouette. The wooden hat and coat pegs shown are intact and incorporated beautifully into the shaped sides of the mirror surround.

Below the mirror is a white marble shelf measures approximately 27½” from the floor, positioned above a dovetailed drawer. The lower section has two large circular umbrella or cane holders supported by turned posts, with both cast-iron drip pans still in place.

The combination of burl walnut, marble, mirror, carved details, and the exceptionally tall 88” profile makes this a wonderful statement piece for a Victorian home, foyer, entry hall, or period interior.
