This wonderful pair of matching antique claw foot chairs are heavily carved with tall backs. Dating from the 1880s, these Victorian aged chairs are in the Horner style. They came out of a home on the East Coast, and we really wish we had a full dining set. They have a wonderful U shape style leg on the front with a hairy detail claw foot, incise carved flared cross stretcher and carving all over the base. The backs are extra tall and have a wonderful crest in the center and chip carving all around the frame. They appear to be walnut but are stained a dark color. They have the old plum color fabric that are usable. When you sit on them real hard, you can spread the legs out. There is due to a previous repair; these antique chairs are strong and sturdy, but we will detail out the previous repair so this issue is absolved. One of the claw feet is missing the sides of the claws. Otherwise, the chairs are nice. The overall size is 19.5 inches wide, 19.5 inches deep, 20 inches high to the seat and 48 inches high to the carved crest. They are a nice-looking pair of chairs.
