SOLD Antique Bookcase, Victorian Burl Walnut Breakfront Triple Door Bookcase

This Antique Victorian burl walnut bookcase is a breakfront of a unique size. The rare and unusual part is that where there is normally a center glass door, there is a drop-down lid exposing a desk interior and a storage compartment behind the bottom drawer. It has three picture frame molded dove tail drawers with big bold Victorian T handle hardware. There is burl all over the cabinet. When you expose the desk portion, it reveals a simplistic cubby hole double drawer interior that has the tell-tale signs of old ink being spilt on the inside. I believe this is even the original felt on the writing surface! This is definitely an unusual Victorian piece for you collectors out there. The door of this antique bookcase is picture frame molded with burl front, just like the door below the desk section. Even the glass doors are picture frame molded with inverted corners. We replaced two small pieces of molding, that I can’t tell where they were as the crew did such a great job. Each glass door has three adjustable shelves behind. There are drawers underneath each section. The overall size is 66 inches wide at the base, 16 inches deep on the outside base, 20 inches deep on the center of the base, 12 inches high on the base, 54 inches high on the outside of the bookcase section and 59.5 inches high overall.
