SOLD Antique Bookcase, Victorian Burl Walnut Breakfront Bookcase

This stunning antique burl walnut bookcase features a picture frame molded triple door breakfront and dates from the 1880s. We get a lot of nice pieces in here, but the burl on this antique bookcase really takes the cake. This antique bookcase in beautiful condition, and is a really great size. Measuring 73 inches at the widest point, 57 inches tall and 15 inches deep on the ends, 73 inches tall and 18 deep in the center. The center section has three shelves that are 27 inches wide x 13 inches deep. The two outside sections have a total of 5 shelves combined, each measuring 19 x 11 inches.

Talk about burl walnut, this attractive bookcase had it EVERYWHERE. All the dark ebonized molding appears to be all there, which is always nice, and a particularly special feature here is the additional storage of two drawers at the top of the sort sections of this antique bookcase.

This is a true breakfront where the middle section steps out 3 inches or so. Be sure to take a look at the photos, everything looks great to us but burl walnut tends to shrink and stretch over the years, so sometimes it will create little flaws. They are super hard to find or notice, because of the general nature of burl walnut, and it wouldn't be anything structural, but we like to mention in case anything is there that we didn't see. This kind of antique is getting harder and harder to find, and we're so pleased to be offering it today.
