We are pleased to be offering today this unusual Victorian mahogany or walnut (I can’t really tell) original Victorian half commode that has the original wooden top. They usually have marble, but this one is wooden. It has all the other great things a marble top one does and I was even thinking of having a marble cut for this one! The marble would increase the value. Our shop is so busy that we are going to offer this one with a wooden top for a great price. It has carved columns going down both sides, round bun feet on the front, original hardware, picture frame molded door with ribbon mahogany panels and a cookie corner top. It has a hand cut dove tail drawer. It has a single shelf interior behind the door. The overall size is 20 inches wide, 17 inches deep, 32 inches high to the cabinet top and the 33 inches high to the dainty backsplash. It dates from the 1880’s. Someone put a nice scratch on the side that you can see in the photos, which you can only see from a side angle. It was refinished about 50 years ago. It has the original carvings and hardware.
