We are pleased to be offering today this Victorian burl walnut cylinder secretary that dates from the 1880s in beautiful condition. It came right out of the coast of the Cape in Massachusetts. It is a great looking desk that has been cleaned up and polished by the previous owner. It has the original hardware. All the burl walnut is complete and intact. There is a few little spots on the bottom of the left hand door that the burl has raised a bit, which is normal. It has a double crown molded top, burl walnut accent doors, two adjustable shelves behind the doors and the cylinder roll is in nice condition. Behind the cylinder door is a double drawer cubby hole simplistic interior with a pull out writing surface that has a piece of brown vinyl or leather. I think it would better with an antique cranberry felt or a color like that. It has one large dove tail drawer and two doors in the base. The overall size is 40 inches wide, 23 inches deep, 30 inches high to the pull out writing surface and 86 inches high overall. Other than a few minor nicks and dings, it is in nice condition.
