We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful Victorian solid rosewood carved gentleman’s arm chair that dates from the 1870s era in wonderful condition. It has a buttoned and pleated crush velour in cranberry fabric that is all good and appears to have been upholstered in the last few years. The frame is all solid rosewood with the dark black and amber color grains going throughout the chair. Rosewood is a brittle type of wood and it is amazing this chair is not damaged. There are two small lamination seams that we will glue up. The legs are multi-sided and multi-turn round bun feet. There are corner blocks underneath the arm supports that swoop down into a carved beautiful grained rosewood front skirt. The back has an oval carved into the rosewood and the sides. The overall size is 26 inches wide, 23 inches deep, 42 inches high overall, 15.5 inches high to the seat and 23 inches high to the arms. Shipping starts at $225 if you are in our normal area and will increase in costs if not. This estimate is for the East coast. You are welcome to use your own shipper if desired.
