SOLD Victorian Oak Barley Twist Carved Library Cabinet
We are pleased to be offering today this unbelievable oak heavily carved European two door library cabinet with a drawer in the base and wonderful carving throughout with barley twist posts on both sides. It has a large carved drawer on the bottom with fleur-de-lis carving across the drawer, hand cut dove tails, large thick barley twist posts going up both sides, step out crown molded top with nuts and leaves carved in and a fantastic carved crest in the center of the top. The doors are extra tall with carvings on the bottom of musical instruments on one side and part of a Greek column on the other side. The cabinet terminates in a step out base with bun feet. The cabinet has three adjustable shelves inside. One of the glasses looks like the original glass, but the other one has been replaced as it was broken when it arrived at the warehouse. The cabinet has been all tightened up. It is in the dark oak stain finish. The overall size is 52 inches wide, 22 inches deep at the base, 16 inches deep on the case itself and the overall height is 95 inches. It is a great cabinet that would look fantastic in anyone’s home. It just has minor wear and tear from the 1870’s. Everything looks to be real nice.
