SOLD Victorian Oak 66 Inch Flat Top Desk with Carved Pulls

We are pleased to be offering today this very unusual raised panel inside out all the way around carved pull flat top desk that dates from the 1890s in previously refinished condition.  The size is 66 inches wide (5.5 FEET WIDE!).  It came out of an east coast estate. I am assuming someone had it refinished in a  dark brown oak stain.  It is beautiful with tiger sawn oak all the way around.  It has a large flat top writing surface.  The overall size is 66 inches wide, 38 inches deep and 31 inches tall.  Inside where the office chair goes it is  28 inches wide by 24 inches high.  Someone had replaced with the trim piece that goes underneath the center drawer and we had to replace a couple of the drawer bottoms that were cracked or very dirty.  The desk has two small drawers and a file cabinet double drawer with a pull out writing surface on the right hand side.  The left hand side has four drawers with a pull out writing surface.  All drawers are dove tail and have the beautifully carved solid oak handle pull.  It has an applied bracket foot base, round corner edges around the top and base and the desk is finished in a dark oak stain.  The top has some scratches, nicks and dings from normal wear.  If the buyer would like the desk refinished it can be discussed at the time of the sale.  I can not stress the importance of how wide the desk is.  The drawers are 14 inches wide where normal desk are only 10.  Plenty of room for writing and storage.  The pull out writing surfaces are 15 inches wide by 22 inches deep.  It is a great desk.  Shipping starts at $425 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.  Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
