SOLD Victorian Eastlake Heavily Carved Cylinder Secretary Desk
We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful example of Eastlake Victorian furniture as displayed in this cylinder burl walnut secretary bookcase top desk with the most unusual base. It has two oval bevel edge walnut panel doors on the base cabinet with three center drawers and a large drawer below. It is very unusual for a base. The top has an extra tall carved crest with spoon carving and it is gorgeous with all the carving throughout the piece. The burl walnut trim is all good. The cylinder is all nice. The bookcase top has two adjustable shelves. When you open the cylinder lid it reveals a cubby hole interior with the original felt. We can replace the felt if the buyer so desires. The overall size is 38 inches wide, 22 inches deep, 30 inches high to the pull out writing surface, 42 inches high to the top of the cylinder roll and the overall height is 94 inches high. It is a great desk in the original finish. It is in a light brown walnut stain. A good polish will make it look stunning. It has the original hardware. It does not have a key.
