We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful oval burl walnut molded panel door and back carved marble top hunts board that dates from the 1860s to 1870s era. It is a beautiful piece that came out of a home in western Maine. It is in the original old finish. We have put some Howard’s on to clean it up and we repaired a crack in one of the bottom doors in the cabinet. It is a great looking piece with burl walnut throughout. It has panel sides, carvings all through the top, double shelf top, big oval burl panel underneath the shelves with burl accents around the four corners, cut out fancy burl panels on the top crest and a group of bird’s featuring the days catch (the reason it is called a hunts board instead of a sideboard). It is great right down to the hand carved handles on the dual drawers above the dual oval panel doors. The white and gray grained marble has a wide ogee bevel edge that finishes off a beautiful look. The overall size is 48 inches wide, 22 inches deep on the marble, 37.5 inches high to the marble and 84 inches high to the very top. The height to the carved shelf below the birds is 59 inches high. The depth of the shelf is 12 inches. It is a great looking sideboard/hunts board that is in original condition and is fairly tight. Shipping starts at $385 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
