We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful original finish Victorian heavily carved burl walnut cylinder secretary desk that dates from the 1880s in wonderful original condition. Right out of a home on the east coast, this cabinet comes with the fancy floral carved crest on the top that is normally missing. The desk has rosettes, burl panels and beautiful condition throughout. It has a triple drawer base with the Eastlake round dove tail on the drawers. It has panel and plank sides. It has a burl cylinder barrel that opens to reveal a multi-drawer cubby hole interior with a pull out writing surface that we have replaced the old feltwriting surface with antique color red felt. It retains the original Eastlake hardware on all the drawers. It is in really nice condition. The overall size is 40 inches wide, 23 inches deep and 94 inches high to the crest. It is a beautiful desk that appears to have the original glass in the top section with an adjustable shelf behind. The desk comes apart from the bookcase up for ease of moving.
