SOLD Victorian Burl Walnut Bookcase Desk – Civil War Era
We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful and wonderful fancy carved burl walnut slant top bookcase secretary desk that dates from the 1860s in restored condition. We have taken this beautiful civil war era item into our shop to sand, glue, stain and apply multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer for years of carefree use. It is now all set to go into the home right off the truck. It is a great desk with two burl panel doors below the hand carved drawers. Above the drawers is a slant top burl accented lid that pulls down to reveal a simplistic interior with a leather writing surface. Above the slant lid are two glass doors that have heavy crown molded with burl accent trim. The overall size is 35 inches wide, 72 inches high overall, 22.5 inches deep on the base. It is a great desk. Shipping starts at $325 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
