SOLD Unusual Oak Bookcase

We are pleased to be offering today this most unusual oak five door bookcase.  Normally these are called sectional bookcases because the door will lift up and hide away. I have never owned a model like this one in my over 50 years in the business and I have thousands of sectional bookcases.  This one opens up the reverse.  It flips down to deal with the books and then flips back up.  It does not hide away.  The top is incorporated into the top and the base is incorporated into the base, but the other three sections can be removed and taken out.  It is really bizarre.  It is a cool piece that opens up and will hold tons of books.  It is all tiger sawn oak.  It dates from the 1910 era.  It is in the original finish.  The overall size is 34 inches wide, 10 inches deep on each section and 75 inches high overall.  The actual height for the books to go in is approximately 11 inches high and 8 inches deep on the inside.  It is quite unique.  If you are looking for a conversation piece, than this is it.  There are two glasses that are missing on the pull out doors as they were broken when we picked it up from the house.  We will replace them prior to shipping.   It is a great bookcase in the original dark oak stain finish.  It is all tiger sawn oak.  It has little brass knobs.  Shipping estimates starts at $245.00-$265.00 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
