We are pleased to be offering today right out of a farm house is this unbelievable heavy high quality knuckle arm Windsor bow back chair that dates from the early 1900s in original condition. It has the original maker’s label underneath the seat. It was made and sold by the Reischmann Chair Company out of Willow Avenue, New York New York. This chair weighs probably 3 times as much as a regular Windsor arm chair. The base has three large oak tapered spindles instead of the one cross stretcher. It has a seat support underneath that would remind you of a chair in the Tudor style with the English style frame that the solid saddle seat top sits upon. It is a firehouse style knuckle arm chair with a bow back. It has a cut out splat in solid oak. Everything is solid oak and of high quality. The overall size is 23 inches wide, 18 inches deep, 39 inches high to the back, 30 inches high to the arm and 19 inches high to the seat. It is in original condition. You can see a small gouge in the seat that is barely noticeable. The chair does have some finish loss, but it is in great condition. The back is routed carved and it is chipped up a bit across the top. This is definitely a stout and sturdy desk chair.
