SOLD Pair of Twin Mahogany Pencil Post Canopy Beds

We are pleased to be offering today this unusual matching pair of solid mahogany pencil poster beds with a high top canopy on both beds but we pictured them as one with the canopy on and the other without the canopy in case you want to use them without the canopies.  These are call  pencil poster bed because the posts tapered right up to a tapered end with a wonderful turn finial.  They come with a dome top canopy that is really nice as they fill up a room cool.  They date most likely from the turn of the century from the way they are constructed (1910 to 1920).  The inside dimensions for mattress purposes are 38 inches wide by 75 inches long.  A modern day box spring and mattress will fit into the metal brackets on the side rails.  The side rails are 17 inches from the floor and the bottom of the side rail is 12 inches from the floor.  The height of the headboard panel is 36 inches high.  The outside dimension of the bed is 42 inches wide.  The height of the cross piece on the footboard is 17 inches high.  If the bed post with the finials is 69 inches high.  If the canopy is installed the height is approximately 86 inches high.  They are finished in  dark reddish brown stain finish On the back of the headboard panel and inside the siderails there are white marking where I think they marked the components but they are where you will never see the marks once the beds are set up. .  They are all solid mahogany.  They have bolt in rails for added strength and tightness.  Shipping starts at $385 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.  Outside New England it will change, so please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to obtain a quote for outside of New England for shipping.
