We are pleased to be offering today this fantastic pair of solid walnut heavily carved stylish and dainty French arm chairs that I am assuming were American made back in the 1890s era. They are fantastic in the original dark oak finish. They have delicate detail carving down the shapely back, cane back, arms, top of the arms, legs and the skirts. Even the side skirts are carved! I am going to let the pictures do the talking. The cane backs are very usable, which is unusual as they are usually dried up and broken. Someone had reupholstered a pad in a lime green, which kind of surprises me, I believe it probably had lace seats originally underneath. The chairs are oversize and would look fantastic at the fireside, in an office or in a hallway. The overall size is 27 inches wide, 26 inches deep, 53 inches high to the top crest, 28 inches high to the carved arms and 18.5 inches high to the seat without the 3 inch cushion. They are fantastic chairs of solid walnut construction. These definitely came from a high end furniture store back in the day.
