We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful matching pair of twin size carved cannonball poster beds that dates from the 1850s in restored refinished condition. The beds are beautiful stained in a dark brownish color with multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer applied. The posts are multi-turned with big cannonballs on top and acanthus carved fluted columns. The rails have metal L brackets that hold the box spring in place. The inside dimension for mattress size are 38.5 inches by 75 inches long. The outside dimensions are 42 inches wide, 47 inches high on the footboard high, 36 inches high on the footboard cross stretcher, 48 inches high on the headboard post and 40 inches high to the top of the headboard shield. It is a great looking pair of beds with a fancy shield and the multi-turn cross stretcher. These are bolt on rails, so they are tight and sturdy.
