SOLD Oak Barley Twist Oversize Platform Rocker by Hunzinger
We are pleased to be offering today this hard to find beautiful original finish barley twist lollipop dowel oversize tiger sawn oak platform rocker designed and sold by the George Hunzinger company back in the 1880s. He is the only one who has the patent on this particular spring mechanism underneath. You can see where the label used to be under the platform leg which has fallen off, but I have had many of these over the decades and I personally guarantee that this is a genuine Hunzinger rocker. The nice thing about this rocker is the size. It is the grand daddy of all the Hunzinger rockers. This chair used to bring in $1800-$2200, but we brought this one more reasonable on the East coast and are happy to pass the savings to our valued customers. Someone has reupholstered this in a green color, but this would look great with a crush velour or leather upholstery. The original dark oak stain finish is in great condition with just some minor nicks and dings. The overall size is 25 inches across the arms, 21 inches high at the front of the seat, 45 inches high to the top of the post and 26 inches deep.
