SOLD Mahogany Twisted Post Ball and Claw Pedestal by Merklen
We are pleased to be offering this wonderful mahogany twisted post detailed talon ball and claw footed pedestal that dates from the 1880s to 1890s. It is a beautiful piece with original wood and it appears to have been overcoated with a finish years ago. It has a brown mahogany stain and is in really nice shape. It has a multi-bevel edge 14 inch square top. Underneath the top is a twisted spindle and ball gallery that is unique as it is all wood. It rests upon a spiral rope twisted column that comes down into multi-turnings into a circular turnings with detail metal and wooden ball talon feet. It is a great looking piece of furniture. The overall height is 32 inches. Items from Merklen are getting harder and harder to find.
