SOLD Mahogany Sectional Bookcase by Macey

We are pleased to be offering this five-glass-door sectional mahogany-stained bookcase to you today. Dating from the 1890s, in its original finish, this piece was originally made and sold by the Macey Furniture Company.  We acquired it out of a home in the Boston area. It is a typical sectional bookcase other than the original old finish. This cabinet has a rolled top, rolled base with a drawer in it, metal banded sides and an assortment of heights. It is stained mahogany, but I believe it is likely birch and mahogany mix.  Some of the knobs were missing and they have been replaced.  The inside bottoms are a maple veneer.  You can tell they had a display in there like rocks because there are some stains. I would either put contact paper over the bottoms or have them re-veneered personally.  The overall size is 34 inches wide, 12 inches deep and 79 inches high overall.  The size of the glass doors are 11 inches, 13.5 inches, 13.5 inches, 13.5 inches and 13.5 inches.  The inside dimensions are 32 inches wide and 10 inches deep.  The height of the glass doors is the exterior height.  So, figure 1 inch less for books on height.  The hardware appears to be intact.  The knobs do not match, and they are different sizes, which is normal for the age.  The finish shows minor nicks and dings from normal wear.  The base does have the hard-to-find drawer.  Shipping starts at $295 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
