SOLD Antique Danner Sectional Bookcase in Mahogany

This fantastic antique Mahogany Danner sectional bookcase is a little special. We love getting these in, but this one is a little unique and boy were we happy to see it when it came off the truck. These Danner bookcases are almost always constructed out of oak, but this one is mahogany. You know, we don’t keep many of the antiques that come through here, because they’re for selling, but this little bookcase is one I’d put in my home in a heartbeat.

Dating from the 1890s, this Danner Bookcase is two sections that sit on a base with a single blind dovetailed drawer. The drawer has nice simple original brass hardware that have a really great aesthetic. Both the top and bottom sections have a stamp that says TRADE DANNER MARK. The condition is good original, with some of the nicks and dings that come with age. There’s a small chip out of one of the sides of one of the sections, but will detail it out for you if you remind us at the time of sale.

While this bookcase is a two section bookcase, each section is partitioned into two individual sections, so ultimately this a two section, but four compartment bookcase. The overall size of this piece is 38 inches long, 14 1/2 inches deep, and 61 inches tall. There are four adjustable shelves total measuring 9 inches deep and around 18” long, which is how wide each partition is.

The drawer at the base of this piece measures 34” long x 11” deep x 3 1/2” high.
