SOLD French Victorian Inlaid Marble Top Chest with Brass Ormolu
We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Bombay side and front heavily inlaid French marble top brass ormolu accent dresser that dates from the 1870s era. It is a beautiful chest with a rose color quartz marble top. The marble has been repaired as it was cracked down the middle, but it looks like a vein when you study it. . I’m not sure it will show in the photo. It is all original brass keyholes, handles, corner trims and foot trims. It has inlaid all over with floral designs against the mahogany background. The drawers are Bombay and hand cut dove tail. The sides are Bombay and inlaid. It shows its’ age with normal nicks and dings here and there. There are some cracks on the Bombay sides, which is normal. The appearance is really nice. The cookie corner Bombay side rose quartz marble top has been repaired by the previous owner. They did a good job as it looks like a vein. The overall size is 44 inches wide, 24 inches deep and 37 inches high to the top of the marble.
