We are pleased to be offering today this period 1840s to 1850s flame mahogany country sideboard that is in the original finish. All we have done is stop by the cabinet maker and had him French polish it with the original old shellac finish that is all intact. All the flaws, pressure cracks, small veneer chips are all left in place as the original finish is gorgeous with the rich patina. It is all hand cut dovetail, has 8 drawers, two tombstone doors, two of the drawers are wine bottle drawers, pillar front legs, panel molded backsplash and solid plank sides. It all rests upon turnip style sturdy legs. The key hole covers are all there and the knobs appear to be original. The overall size is 56 inches wide, 22 inches deep and 52 inches high to the top of the backsplash. The backsplash is 9 inches high. It is a beautiful sideboard in a dark reddish brown mahogany stain finish. It has cracks in the two tombstone doors, the top of the face of one of the doors, crack on the top and on the plank sides and minor veneer chips on the edge of the base.
