We are pleased to be offering today this period empire pre-civil war flame mahogany double drawer sewing stand or work table dating from the 1840s to 1850s in original condition. Look at the grain in all this flame mahogany. It had a few little chips on the veneer and it has been touched up. You can tell if you really study it with a magnifying glass. Otherwise, it is a nice model in original condition. The two ogee molded front drawers and entire drop leaf top sits upon a center column post that comes down into a jelly roll platform base. The size is 18 inches wide, 21 inches deep and 28.5 inches high. When the two 9 inch leaves are flipped up, it becomes 35 inches wide. The leaves have a slight bow, but nothing serious. It is hand cut dove tail on the drawers. The condition is great for the age. It has a reddish brown stain to go in any Empire room.
