SOLD Antique Mahogany Empire Acanthus Carved Drop Leaf Two Drawer Sewing Stand
We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful dual drawer acanthus carved heavily carved throughout claw foot drop leaf sewing stand or work table that dates from the 1920s. It is possible that it could date back to the 1890s, but I think it is 1920s. This stand has been all completely refinished and the top has been all re-done in mahogany to draw out the gadroon rope braided edge. The drop leaf stand works fine. It comes with glass knobs, dove tail drawers and even the key. The two drawer drop leaf table sits upon a fancy acanthus carved turn posts with three wicked detail claw feet. The overall size when the table is set up is 38 inches wide, 18 inches deep and 30 inches high. When you drop the two drop leaves down the table becomes approximately 20.5 inches wide. The drawers are 3 inches high and has a little sliding tray for your sewing parts and pieces. It is in the dark reddish brown mahogany finish that is gorgeous.
