We are pleased to be offering today right out of a coastal Maine estate drop leaf sewing stand or sewing table, but it also has a unique option of a flip top writing desk that flips out with a leather top with the quill holder on the side and places where the ink went on the top drawer. It is inscribed in old ink “ this mahogany table was bought for Arlene Bacon on July 8th, 1842”. This table is definitely period and from the early 1800s. The top drawer has the flip out desk with the signature on it. It appears to have the old original leather, so someone really took care of this. The second drawer has a divided compartments for sewing. The bottom drawer is the deep dish scooped out with the paper liner on the inside. It has the original sandwich glass poles. What is really amazing is that it has a solid mahogany top that has the original crusty looking finish and it is just worn on the corners from being used over the years. There is no damages, cracks, warping, etc. It has fancy cut out country Duncan phyfe legs with applied carvings going up the sides. This table has it all. If you want a good honest period piece with a history to it, then this is the item for you. The overall size is 19 inches wide with the leaves down, 18.5 inches deep and 28.5 inches high. The leaves are approximately 9 inches. When the leaves are flipped up, it becomes 36 inches wide. This is a really great piece! It has the period castors intact. It has the original key and the locks are all in place. It is almost like it was never used. Shipping starts at $165 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
