We are pleased to be offering today this most unusual model of a George Hunzinger platform rocker that dates back from the 1880's. It is kind of hard to tell which wood this is; it could be walnut or a dark brown mahogany. The unusual part of this is the design of the chair that reminds me of a handle wagon. It is all rope and barley twisted. The base, where the famous Hunzinger hinge mechanism is all intact, is all original to the finish and the needlepoint upholstery. The finish is a dark brown that is age worn over the years with some finish loss. IT is awesome in my opinion. The overall size is 24 inches across the arms, 22 inches deep, 40 inches high to the barley twist rope turned back, 25 inches high to the arms and 18 inches high to the needlepoint seat. The needlepoint is all intact and good. It has a dark black background with a multi-colored floral arrangement on the seat and back. It is a great Hunzinger chair that is rare in this model. Shipping starts at $245 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England.
