We are pleased to be offering today this Hunzinger solid oak platform rocker of a model that I have never seen, heard of or had the pleasure of owning in my over 50 years in the antique business.  Check out the lion heads on top with the fangs coming out that are all intact.  It is a real heavy stout Hunzinger rocker. It is probably one of the nicest models I have seen.  It is in the original condition right from an Estate in western Massachusetts.  It has the old needlepoint fabric on it that is actually still usable, but it is from the 1880s era.  The chair itself is great with the traditional Hunzinger patented H hinge on the base, thick tiger sawn oak turnings, dainty spindle spacer and a picture frame molded back.  Check out the heads on the very top as they are unbelievable.  This estate also had the matching ladies rocker that is pretty much the same rocker, it just does not have the heads on the posts, so please check with us to see if it is still available.  Each chair is being sold separately.  If you are a Hunzinger collector, please let me know if you have seen this model before. The overall size is 26 inches across the arms, 27 inches deep, 44 inches high to the lion head back, 24 inches high to the arms,  19 inches high in the front of the seat and 17 inches high in the back of the seat.  This would have brought so much money back when Hunzinger was just coming available 30 years ago!!.  Just imagine if this was reupholstered in a tufted leather!   Shipping estimates starts at $250.00-$285.00 for a driveway delivery in our normal area which is New England. We can assist you in setting up shipping if needed, you would pay the shipping company direct.  Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to confirm what it would cost you if outside of New England for shipping.
