We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful original finish early Victorian solid black walnut American marble top huntsboard that dates from the 1870s in wonderful original as found condition. Look at the numerous photos to see the birds of prey on each door and the large solid black walnut deer head on top with the antlers all intact. It has a white and gray grain marble top is all intact with a few small stains on the back of the marble towards the backsplash. The base of the cabinet has two hand cut dovetail drawers with tremendous hand carved handles. The two picture frame doors open to expose a shelf interior. The two doors have the birds shot that day hanging on the doors. The base is a multi-molded 45-degree angle baseboard with large cornices on both sides of the 45-degree angle top. The top of the sideboard has the large deer head, carving is all intact on the backsplash, a large shelf on top held up with two big supports and pierce carving on the base. The size of the deer from ear to ear is 17 inches, 11 inches tall and 14 inches at the widest point of the antlers. The only damage I see is a tiny nick on one of the antlers that I didn’t even notice at first. The overall size of the sideboard is 57 inches wide, 25 inches deep, 40 inches high to the marble and 86 inches high overall. The size of the raised panel between the two brackets is 29 inches wide by 12 inches tall. There is a crack at the bottom of the raised panel. There is an escutcheon missing on one of the doors. The overall condition is good with a couple of small cracks on the backsplash. Shipping starts at $465 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
