SOLD Antique Victorian Carved Oak Lion Head Claw Foot Banquet Table - 12 Feet- Horner

We are pleased to be offering today this stunning and beautiful example of tiger oak turn of the century furniture that dates from the 1890s. It is a 60 inches round oak table that comes with two fitted 12-inch-wide table leaves, only one leaf is pictured because the other leaf came out dark and will be corrected to correct color when table is purchased. The table is fully restored and refinished. We have had this model a couple of times and we have been fortunate to keep the price down. The base has a super large lion head with a carved mane coming down on a thick detail claw toenail foot. It has a gadroon edge on the tiger sawn top with a molded skirt. It comes with two leaves that we fitted to the table. The table when closed is 60 inches round, 30 inches high to the tabletop and 26 inches high for chair clearance. When the two leaves are installed, the table becomes 84 inches long. This would allow another 60 inches (FIVE FEET!)of table leaves. The table has been stripped, sanded, stained a dark oak color to draw out the gorgeous graining and apply multiple coats of satin sheen hand rubbed lacquer that is moisture resistant and holds up for many years of carefree use. This table pulls apart with a split pedestal base that when open reveals a center leg for additional support. This table is a tribute to Horner with the quality of the lion heads and feet.
