SOLD Antique Victorian Carved Full Lion Body Oak Banquet Table 1890s Horner!

We are pleased to be offering today this gorgeous Horner 60” (opens to 10 feet plus) tiger sawn oak banquet table with one of the better bases we have seen in a long time.  This came out of a coastal home in new York city, where a lot of Horner furniture comes from.  I have scoured the internet to find one with this base and I found many for $15,000 to $20,000 to $22,000 but none of them had this base.  I gave it to one of better refinishers in Maine to take the top and manufacture 3 new leaves, carved the diamond key bevel edge just like the top and he duplicated the skirt.  You are getting two factory original 9 inch leaves, two that are 11.5 inches wide and one that is 12 inches wide.  The table will open to approximately 9.5 feet long.  The entire table is all tiger sawn oak.  If you look at the pedestal, it has massive toe nail detail claw feet that sits upon the platform base, four full body lions carved 360 degrees with some of the finest details I have seen (a sure sign of Horner) and a split pedestal base.  A big round circular middle leg helps support the table when it is extended to accommodate your needs.  Look at the trunk, it has reverse arches carved into the oversize center column with large notch molding and turnings.  The table is all original except for the three new leaves.  When the table closes it has two short pieces on the skirt, which I do not know if it is original or not but we left it like it is and you can see it in the photos.  When we purchased it some of the mechanism was missing to tighten up the base and we put window latches on underneath to tighten the base.  The overall size of the table is 60 inches around, 30 inches high to the top of the table and 26 inches high to the bottom of the skirt.  The table has a dark oak finish with multiple coats of satin sheen lacquer.  It is a beautiful and stunning table.  I researched, which I never do, and I cannot find this gorgeous base listed anywhere.  We are offering this table at this low price of $9,995 for a quick sale and not trying to get greedy asking $15-16,000 (which I think it is likely worth due to the rarity of the base).  This is a perfect table for bragging rights with the friends and family.  Shipping starts at $485 for driveway delivery in our normal area.  Please contact us prior to purchase to confirm shipping.
