We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Civil War Era (1860s) burl walnut with a hand carved partridge/pheasant on the very burl walnut crown molded top crest and burl walnut all over.  It has leaf carving on the drawers, hand cut dove tails, white and gray grained bevel edge marble that is in really nice condition.  The sideboard has an amazing crest that contains a partridge or pheasant, crown molding finished off with statuess arrow style crest on the very top.  It has a really wide 45 degree bevel edge walnut shelf to offer plenty of storage.  Under the shelf are incise carved circular center with 4 fancy burl walnut carved crest with picture frame molding.  The shelf is supported with big shelf supports that sport even more applied carving.  A molded edge matches up against the white and gray grained marble.  The doors on the base are just like the big panel in the center. It has a carved button in the center of each of the four fancy panels.  The handles are all hand carved leaf carved.  It has a big bevel edge molded bottom that finishes off a great piece.  We have hand rubbed the piece to produce a mellow original patina finish.  The boys worked on this for 3 days to make it look this nice as it was dark and grungy when it came in to the shop.  We put two new key hole covers on the bottom doors as they were missing, other than that it is all original.  There is a small piece of molding missing on the bottom corner of the baseboard, but it is hard to see.  The overall size is 50 inches wide, 19 inches deep,  36 inches high to the marble, 44 inches high from the marble to the top and the overall height is approximately 82 inches. The size of the bird carving is 7 inches across and 12 inches high from the head to the tail.  The patina is simply stunning.  Shipping starts at $485 for a driveway delivery in our normal area.  Please note shipping includes the cost of us crating the marble for safety.
