We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Rococo revival carved oversize mahogany marble top console table dating from the 1880's. The shaped white marble top above a conforming carved frieze with raised panels and a central cartouche with hanging grapes, raised on four floral-carved cabriole legs joined by stretchers: the frontal stretcher pierced and carved with shell and leaf tips. PROVENANCE: Descended in the family of Rafael C. and Ethel Regan Goyeneche, Sr., Mexico City, Mexico; Havana, Cuba; and New Orleans, Louisiana. SIZE: 36” h x 76” w x 25-1/2” d. CONDITION: Very good and original. The surface appears to be a well-cared-for old or original finish that has some embedded wax and dirt in the low spots. The marble top is without stains or discoloration and appears to be original.
