We are pleased to be offering this beautiful Victorian renaissance black walnut with burl walnut trim incise-carved white and gray grained marble top library table to you today. Dating from the 1880s, this table is most unusual. Please look at the numerous pictures to see for yourself! It has a turtle top shape top with extra shapely curves in it...all I can think of is that this must have been a pain for the person carving out the marble. It is so beautiful; the white and gray grained marble has a shapely double bevel edge that follows the contours of the solid black walnut incise carved frame. The finish looks like it has been washed down the last 20-30 years, and maintains a nice-looking patina. The attractive incise carvings are fantastic; check out the leaf carving on all four legs and the center finial, and it even retains the original castors. It is a gorgeous table that is 39.5 inches wide, 29 inches deep and 30 inches high. It makes a great writing table, dessert table or an awesome center table with a leaded lamp or vase on top.
