This set of 12 antique mahogany dining room chairs are better than average, and feature a shield back. These fantastic antique dining chairs have a wheat pattern in the back splat. The previous owners bought these dining chairs new almost 30 years ago at the purchase price of over $200 per chair. We are selling them here at a very reasonable price. These chairs were well cared for and look brand new. They have a beautiful upholstery in the period style, in cranberry with a fleur-de-lis raised brocade fabric in the center. The set dates from the 1990s is my guess, and consists of 10 side chairs and two armchairs. The people didn’t want to let them go, but they wanted something less formal and more grandchildren friendly. The fabric looks stunning against the mahogany stain finish. I don’t see a maker’s name on the set. The size of the armchairs are 20 inches wide on the seat, 18 inches deep, 23 inches wide across the arms, 20 inches high to the seat, 40 inches high to the top of the chair back. The side chairs are 20 inches wide across the seat, 19 inches deep, 20 inches high to the seat and 40 inches high to the chair back. The chairs have a wonderful cutout craved knuckle on the armchairs. The front of the legs are carved fronts ending in a Hepplewhite spade foot with solid H cross stretchers. You are getting all 12 for one money. It is a great looking set that is tight and sturdy. Shipping starts at $385 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
