This is a beautiful find out of an estate in Massachusetts: A set of four flame mahogany empire dining chairs from the 1860s. Someone has recovered the seats in a floral fabric, and these are the slip-off seats that can be popped out and the fabric can be replaced if you’d like. They have flame mahogany or crotch mahogany on the curved design back, the oversized center splat, and across the front skirt. The rest of the chair is solid mahogany wood, and the overall condition is great. One chair does have a repair that was done years ago, but overall they are all tight and sturdy and very usable. The overall size is 18 inches across, 16 inches deep, 32 inches high, and 19 inches high to the seat because of the big cushion. The chairs themselves have a flared back leg, sabre style front leg, rolled flame mahogany skirt, and a continuous arm coming from the back post down into the front of the seat, and the rolled curved back. These are very comfortable chairs. Please take a look around the rest of the site, and remember that we give a generous freight discount when you purchase multiple items.
