SOLD Antique Set of Eight Flame Mahogany Empire Dining Chairs
Dating from the 1860s, this is a gorgeous set of eight flame mahogany curved back federal or empire style dining chairs. Someone has gone through the set and glued them up, made them tight and sturdy, repaired a back leg, and reupholstered them in an antique teal and beige stunning fabric that looks great against the reddish brown stain finish. The finish also brings out the beautiful grains of the flame mahogany used. They have flared back legs, sabre style front legs, a rolled over skirt, and a curved routered design flame mahogany back and center splat. They do show the wear of age, but it’s a really nice, honest set of eight antique chairs. The overall size of each is 18.5 inches wide, 19 inches deep, 33 inches high to the top, and 19 inches to the seat.
