SOLD Antique Set of 8 Mahogany Chippendale Dining Chairs with Needlepoint

We are pleased to be offering today this set of 8 solid mahogany Chippendale style ball and claw cabriole leg dining chairs that consists of two armchairs and six oversize side chairs dating from the 1890s to 1900s. It is hard to find a set of 6, but even harder to find a set of eight as displayed here. They are in the dark reddish black mahogany finish. They are solid mahogany with a flared back leg, solid mahogany cutout center splat, fancy city style carved crest top, cabriole leg carvings on the elbows, detail ball and claw foot and a complete wrap around seat frame. Each seat has needlepoint fabric that is all intact. The seats could use a good cleaning. The seats do not have any rips or tears. If you desire a different upholstery, the seats pop out for ease of reupholstering. The finish is dark and old. These chairs would be beautiful refinished. The overall size of the armchairs is 21 inches across the arms, 19 inches inside the arms, 18 inches deep, 41 inches high to the chair crest, 27 inches high to the arms, and 18 inches high to the seat. The side chairs are 20 inches wide across the seat, 17 inches deep, 40 inches high to the crest, and 19 inches high to the seat. It is a fantastic set of eight in the old finish that has aged to a beautiful patina. The finish shows wear on top of the arms from normal use. The chairs have the normal nicks and dings of any item from this age. Shipping starts at $375 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
