This set of antique dining room chairs is something we don’t see often in the antique world: a set of oak ball and claw Chippendale dining chairs! Traditionally, this style is in mahogany, not oak. However, here is a matching set of four, in oak, dating from the 1890s. They are in a dark oak stain finish, and the upholstery is a green vinyl fabric and can easily be replaced by unscrewing the seats, covering with fabric, stapling the fabric on the seat, and screwing them back in. These antique dining chairs have the Chippendale open slat back, cabriole legs with a ball and claw foot, solid H cross stretcher, flared one piece back legs and solid oak center splats. These were likely made by Paine or a company of that caliber because of the quality. The overall size is 18 inches wide across the seat, 19 inches deep, 20 inches high to the seat, and 39.5 inches high to the chair back. These would look fantastic around a claw foot table or a ball and claw foot table. The overall condition is all tight and sturdy. There is one little corner on one chair that has a scuff mark.
