What an amazing find: A set of six quarter sawn tiger oak solid Chippendale ball and claw dining chairs, which I’m guessing date from the 1890s era. They have been reupholstered and re-padded in a really professional job, and covered in a fabric that is a multi-color Victorian striped pattern that is really gorgeous. The chairs themselves have Philadelphia Chippendale back and front ball and claw legs, carved clamshells, carved arms, and carved backs. They are in a dark oak stain finish with a lovely patina. I’m really pleased that we bought these because they are very hard to find. This set has two arm chairs and four side chairs in outstanding condition. One of the side chairs, if you look very close, has repaired damage in one of the corners, but it is very hard to see. The overall size of the arm chairs is 21 inches across the seat, 19 inches deep, 37 inches to the top of the crest, 27 inches to the carved arms, and 20 inches high to the seat. The side chairs are 19 inches wide, 16.5 inches deep, 37 inches to the top, and 20 inches high to the seat. This set would complement ANY table.
