SOLD Antique Rocking Chair, Antique Victorian Oak Carved Gentleman’s Arm Rocker
We are pleased to be offering this stout and stylish tiger sawn oak carved rocker to you today. Dating from the 1890s in previously refinished condition, it has big bold arms, extra thick circular seat, and a carving on the back that appears to be a monk. It sits upon a flared legged base with extra bold turnings and the rockers seem to be all good. The overall size is 26 inches wide on the outside of the arms, 20 inches wide on the inside of the arms, 19 inches deep, 33 inches high to the back, 24 inches high to the arm and 14 inches high to the seat. Most people put a cushion on these seats, but that is your choice. I am guessing this chair was refinished in the last 20-30 years, and they glued the back up and fixed a chip on the side of the arm that was fixed at the time of refinishing. It is a nice investment minded piece of carved oak. Shipping starts at $185 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
